Project Leadership Mastery
How critical is excellence in project delivery to your business?
In a recent KPMG survey, 67% of the companies who participated said that their project management ability was in need of improvement. Some 70% of all IT related projects surveyed fail to produce the expected business results – on-time, on-budget or, sometimes, at all!
A 2007 survey by BSC, reported a whopping 88% of companies with average cost overruns at 189% and average schedule overruns at 222%, let alone the follow-on financial effects from lost business, lost stock value or customer compensation!
What is the current cost to your business of project under-delivery?
Regardless of the organisational and technological skills employed, projects still fail at an incredibly high rate. The missing ingredient often overlooked is the Leadership Skills to link the projects soundly into the business, to build a holistic communications web and influence timely, and appropriate, decisions.
In today’s highly competitive world, it is imperative that leaders of your mission-critical projects not only understand, but pro-actively drive sponsorship, collaboration in their project initiatives.
What are the drivers to develop success?
Successful project leaders understand that their team ranges from those closely involved in implementing their project, across Sponsor and Steering Committee, to the broader client community. They understand how to motivate, build cohesion and leverage this wider team’s collective intelligence to drive results. They can apply strategic project leadership skills to harness the uncertainty that surrounds projects.
How can you enhance the skills of your senior Project Leaders, to ensure success?
The College for Adult Learning in partnership with Enlitothmo Business Services Pty Ltd understands the urgent need for project leadership development and, in response to demand from the Banking and Financial Services sector, has developed an intensive Project Leadership Mastery program.
This is a highly interactive, solutions-based program, facilitated by global experts in Project Leadership and is centered around 2 x 2 day residentials, at which small groups focus intensively on project leadership.
To gain maximum transfer of the outcomes of these workshops to the workplace, the sessions are preceded by technical and interpersonal skills analyses, which form the basis for personal plans to apply the workshop outcomes to participant’s projects. This is supported by a series of face-to-face coaching sessions for up to 3 months following the workshops.
