In Australia, Vocational qualifications are nationally recognised and highly regarded throughout the Asia Pacific. Thousands of international students travel to Australia every year to complete a VET qualification.
A vocational qualification such as a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Certificate (for example) tells an employer that you are highly trained in the skills and knowledge required by industry. You can learn more about accredited training here.
Research indicates that employers will often choose a VET graduate over a University graduate with feedback acknowledging such graduates have ‘can do’ and ‘practical’ skill sets who therefore are better equipped to ‘ hit the ground running’ in new/challenging workplaces.
Why offer a qualification?
In many cases, your staff can receive the training they need without a qualification. This is usually done through a commercial agreement with a training provider who will design a program to suit your exact requirements. However, you cannot get the same outcomes and added value you would gain from enrolling your staff in a qualification.
Programs designed to deliver a qualification can be customised to the exacting or specific requirements of your workplace (in the same way as above) however, the additional value of completing a qualification comes in the assessment component which be designed to address real workplace problems and provide high quality solutions through a carefully designed workplace project.
Qualifications are also encourage and often supported by government (depending on the qualification) so the training program can be very inexpensive to run.
You can also choose to complete part of a qualification – providing a learning pathway for the individual to complete the qualification in the future.
