Managing Change
“The demands of the changing economy continue to challenge, and change the marketplace in ways without precedent, giving rise to new conflicts within many businesses’ models of growth. These conflicts can, more often than not, be used to create change and should be looked at as guideposts to success rather than roadblocks.” (K.Wilson 2009)

Planning, implementing and managing change in a fast-changing environment is increasingly the situation in which most organisations now work. Dynamic environments such as these require dynamic processes, people, systems and culture, especially for managing change successfully, notably effectively optimising organisational response to market opportunities and threats.
Responsibility for managing change is with management and executives of the organisation – they must manage the change in a way that employees can cope with it. The manager has a responsibility to facilitate and enable change, and all that is implied within that statement, especially to understand the situation from an objective standpoint (to ’step back’, and be non-judgemental), and then to help people understand reasons, aims, and ways of responding positively according to employees’ own situations and capabilities. Increasingly the manager’s role is to interpret, communicate and enable – not to instruct and impose, which nobody really responds to well.
Change management entails thoughtful planning and sensitive implementation, and above all, consultation with, and involvement of, the people affected by the changes.
A change-ready organisation is committed to continually building its competency to respond as needed to a complex and ever-changing environment. Whether you work in the public or private sector, you can be sure that your organisation now faces a much more complex environment than it has in the past. The change management programs offered by CAL will provide the learner with a sound understanding of the principles of and strategies for change management as well as a practical kit of useful tools and techniques.
Our short course programs are designed and customised to meet the needs of your organisation and your people. We do not offer off the shelf programs as we believe one size does not fit all.
CAL understands how time poor organisations are and just how difficult it has become to release a key person such as your frontline manager or team leader to attend a whole day workshop.
So, we have designed a series of management SHORT COURSE MODULES instead of whole day (or more) workshops.
These MODULES, are similar to short course workshop, with the following characteristics:
All programs are delivered over a 3 HOUR BLOCK, combining theory and activities.
Participants are encouraged to practice their new found skills in the workplace before attending the second module usually in another week.
All programs have total flexibility however most programs are two, three or four modules with the facility to “bolt on” extra modules that create value for participants.
All our programs are designed to assist participants to manage real life situations and they provide proven techniques and tools for dealing with a variety of challenging situations that can be applied immediately on the job.
